Day 1 — Jhansi
Morning at Jhansi Fort and Rani Mahal, the Government Museum after lunch, and the light-and-sound show in the evening.
Day 2 — Orchha
A short drive to Orchha for the temples and palaces, and a relaxed evening by the Betwa river.

Add a day trip to Gwalior or an overnight visit to Khajuraho.

Best time to visit
October to March is most pleasant. Summers (April–June) get very hot in Bundelkhand.
Getting here
By train: Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi Junction (VGLJ) is a major stop on the Delhi–Mumbai and Delhi–Chennai routes; fast trains like the Gatimaan/Shatabdi connect Delhi and Agra. By road: highways link Jhansi to Gwalior, Kanpur and Orchha. By air: the nearest airports are Gwalior and Khajuraho.
Getting around
Autos and cycle-rickshaws cover the city. For station pick-ups or day trips to Orchha and Gwalior, book a reliable car or taxi.
Where to eat
Try Bundeli and North-Indian thalis, street-side kachori–samosa and poha–jalebi, and local sweets.
